Shelton Banks is a sales development leader turned social reformer passionate about bringing diversity to tech by helping overlooked talent find opportunity. He is CEO of re:work training, a 501(c)3 organization on a mission to reshape hiring trends for underserved communities by providing sales and business development training.
Beginning his career in consumer banking, Shelton's love of innovating sales process and relationship building helped him quickly climb corporate ranks. While climbing, he quickly noticed how social inequality is linked to racial inequality, gender inequality, and wealth inequality. Hired by re:work training in early 2018, Shelton now uses over 10 years of experience in sales and leadership to empower those affected by social disparities to differentiate themselves and drive measurable results as business/sales development representatives for tech organizations. Re:work training has a placement rate of almost 90% with an average increase in salary of 185% from $14,800 average incoming with educational backgrounds from high-school dropouts to Graduate Degree with over $2.3 million dollars in salary going back into underserved communities.
